Alan Gentry is a Fellow of the Institute of Structural Engineers and a
full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation.
After studying architecture, he began his career in engineering,
spending 14 years with Sir Robert McAlpine, followed by a period with
Norwich City Council and private practice, before establishing his own
consultancy in Norfolk in 1984.
His expertise has been in demand ever since.His specialist skills in the restoration of historic buildings
and flair for innovative problem solving and elegant conservation
techniques have earned him a solid reputation in the UK.
Alan relocated to Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 2006, placing his
expertise at the disposal of Private and Public sector clients and
fellow professionals in the county who share his passion for preserving
the fabric of historic properties, so that they may be appreciated by
current and future generations.
